Rihanna Was Never a Gawky Teenager

Rihanna might say she likes to keep her private life private, but she's really very revealing when it comes to her Instagram account. The singer not only posts fleshy selfies and shots of her rumored flame Chris Brown, but also occasionally gives her fans a sneak peek at her life beyond the glitz and glamour, with intimate photos of her family and friends.

On Thursday, Rihanna took her Instagram followers on a trip down memory lane, first posting a shot of herself at 15 with the caption, "the day I met and sang for Evan Rogers of SRP after school, my life has never been the same since I took this pic at 15." She then posted another that appears to be from about the same time with the hashtag "#throwbackRiRi."


Teenage Rihanna looks a lot like modern day Rihanna, except much less voluptuous and a wee bit more innocent. If this woman ever went through an awkward phase, it was sometime before she turned 15.
Rihanna has a lot to celebrate this week: She's bringing her television show to the U.S.'s Style Network, and has been nominated for three 2013 Grammy Awards.
