Justin Bieber's Manager Is Upset About Those Grammy Nominations

Justin Bieber's Believe had, for months, the biggest first-week sales of any album in 2012 until it was eventually dethroned by Mumford & Sons' Babel. While the album was by no means perfect, it did demonstrate a progression for the Canadian pop phenom, who has been fighting tooth and nail for critical recognition for a few years now.

So it's understandable that Bieber's manager Scooter Braun is upset over the fact that Believe is starkly absent from the list of 2013 Grammy Nominees — especially considering that LMFAO got a nod (no offense, LMFAO). Carly Rae Jepsen of "Call Me Maybe" fame, another of Braun's clients, managed to snag two nominations, but was little consolation.

Late Wednesday night, Braun tweet-mused:

first...congrats to @carlyraejepsen . thought u deserved a best new artist nom, but proud Call Me Maybe got u 2 noms. so proud of u.

second....this time there wont be any wise words, no excuses, I just plain DISAGREE. The kid deserved it. Grammy board u blew it on this one

the hardest thing to do is transition, keep the train moving. the kid delivered. Huge succesful album, sold out tour, and won people over...

...this time he deserved to be recognized and I dont really have any kind nice positive things to say about a decision i dont agree with.

so to all those nominated...you do deserve it. You worked hard and u earned it. Just feel like so did JB.

To his fans...looks like we get to stay the underdog a little longer. #BRINGIT

I got a lot more I can say but for now....Im gonna leave it at that. Congrats to all those who got nominated including our own CRJ

life is long, with many ups and downs, but we get to keep going, everyday brings a new opportunity. NOTHING GREAT EVER CAME EASY.
Yikes. It kind of sounds like someone spent the night bawling into his bags of teenybopper money.

Perhaps Braun was moved to comment after he witnessed some of the fans' reactions to the news. Beliebers took the percieved snub very, very hard, if what they wrote on Twitter is to be, um, believed. A sampling of tweets:

"My biggest dream is to be nominated for a Grammy." -Justin Bieber. Honestly thought that was gonna happen next year. Crying rn

My heart is brokn into pieces :'( , i cnt stop crying it hurts me so bad, i just cnt believe it , @justinbieber , deserves a grammy :'( :'(

I'm crying right now okay. This is not okay. @justinbieber is so much better than all these people. Gotye? Fun? No. Justin deserves a Grammy

@justinbieber I can't stop crying you have worked so hard and you deserved a nomination(s). I'm honestly so disappointed in the Grammy board

Alright. I'm seriously crying my eyes out because @justinbieber wasn't nominated for a grammy. What is with the world right now.

oke im crying because of the grammy nominations FUC THE ONES WHO MAKE THE NOMINATIONZ @justinbieber

Perhaps the Academy knew it wouldn't be handing out any statuettes to the Biebs this year and simply wanted to avoid putting anyone through the hassle of Twitter death threats this time around. Whatever the case, expect Mr. Bieber to sound off about being the underdog again the next time he takes home a fan-chosen award.
