In addition to celebrating their plans to marry, the couple can toast to their one-year anniversary of coupledom, at least in the public eye. The two made their red carpet debut on New Year's Eve last year at a swanky party in Las Vegas.
Brandy is having an epic end to her 2012. The singer had a very merry Christmas, got engaged two days later, and then jetted off to Hawaii to ring in the New Year and show off her new hardware.She posed for a picture with new fiancé, music exec Ryan Press, and her sparkling diamond engagement ring was definitely front and center in the poolside shot.
The image shows Mr. Press in his bright blue swim trunks with his future bride next to him in a green swimsuit coverup with her hand strategically placed in her hair in order to highlight her rock. Who needs a bikini shot when you've got a new diamond? She captioned the picture with a slew of hashtags: "#hawaii #love #forever." Aww.
This will be Brandy's first marriage, technically. In 2008, she admitted to lying for two years about being married to ex Ryan Smith when she discovered she was pregnant with daughter Sy'rai, who's now 10. "I lied because of the fear of what people would think and the pressure to be a good role model," she told Us Weekly at the time. "Our relationship was very real -- we just weren't legally married."
