In one of the most unintentionally hilarious and self-absorbed moments in celebrity history, Kelly recalls:
As the film credits started to roll, I couldn't move. I burst into tears. People walking past me patted me on the back, trying to console me. The Notebook was beautiful, and I was crying because its hero and heroine had died together.
But I was also crying because I remembered a Valentine's Day — when a helicopter had dropped a rainfall of roses — that had come and gone ... my marriage had died. And there was nothing I could do to bring it back.
Yes, that's right: R. Kelly's marriage persisted through a statutory rape trial — and a pee video! — but could not stack up against the killer pairing of Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
Elsewhere in the memoir, Kelly details his battle with dyslexia, his friendship with Michael Jackson, and the time he took a job at McDonald's for three hours because he got into a fight with Jay-Z. It must be read to be believed.
